BUBIER ART
David Bubier has pivoted his portraiture painting to study light on, in, and around the sea and rivers since 2018, particularly around his beloved Ogunquit, Maine, and Cape Cod.
A lifelong artist who designed museum exhibits professionally. (New England Aquarium, Boston Children’s Museum, Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia, Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.)
David dove into painting seriously in 2012 and attended night school at Mass College of Art and also studied studio art at the MFA School. He paints to explore and challenge himself. He studied and graduated with a major in Anthropology at Rhode Island College and took as many art courses as he could fit into his schedule at RISD during his undergrad years.
No one was more surprised than David when he won, “Best in Show” at his first adjudicated art exhibit for his sensuous Braided Girl. He has had gallery showings in the South End, Ogunquit, Maine, Japanese Tea Houses and in and around Greater Boston.
David lives in Ogunquit and is an avid photographer. On an exhibition to China to study the relationship between birds and dinosaurs, one of David’s photos was featured on the front page of the New York Times.
